Signs Keep Me Safe

This week we learned all about signs that help to keep us safe!  We learned about different kinds of signs we see when we are riding in our car our out for a walk and what all they mean.  After learning about the signs we went around campus and looked for signs on a Sign Hunt!

After finding lots of signs around campus we came back inside and worked as a team to build a traffic light.  We used our straight and curved wooden pieces to build the light and sorted our tag bags to be the light's colors!

Next we built our own traffic lights out of paper!

This week in addition to learning about signs we began our alphabet study with the letter L!  We learned that L is a consonant, L makes 1 sound, and we learned about lots of different objects that begin with L.

We practiced writing our letter L, we drew pictures that began with L in our journals, and we practiced counting to ten by adding spots to a ladybug!

This week we continued to work on the concept of one to one correspondence with our new "4 Squares More Squares" pieces.  Look at all of this great building!

Our apple treat for this week was making yummy apple pies!
First we had to make our graham cracker crust, then we added our pie filling, and topped our pies off with delicious whipped cream.  Our snacks were so good that Quinn gave them a 10 out of 10 rating!
