Fancy Families

Last week we learned all about the letter F!

We shared photos of our families and sorted our families into groups based on the number of members.

We learned about things families need and one of those things in shelter!  We colored pictures of our homes and made our own neighborhood on our display board.

We talked about things we need inside of our homes and sorted objects into their rooms we find them in inside of our home.

We also learned about things families need like food, electricity, and the people who help deliver the services and goods.  Our favorite service worker to learn about was the mail man!  We learned all about how mail gets from one place to another and made post cards and mailed them to our homes.

My favorite letter F activity for the week was Fancy Day when we celebrated the life of Mallory Milton, Mrs. Milton's daughter who passed away 3 years ago.  It was a surprise to Mrs. Milton that we all wore pink!  It was such a special day remembering our friend and guardian angel!

Our weather boy, Milty, even got in on the pink!

Thank you, Mira for being an awesome Hoot of the Week!

Welcome To The Monster Mash Bash!

Welcome to the Monster Mash Bash in PreK B!
We are ready for a month of spooky fun leading up to Halloween!

We started the month off by decorating silly monsters for our bulletin board.

And made delicious looking candy corns for our window.

We learned that blue and yellow mixed together make green, a secondary color.

And used our green hands to make Big Green Monsters!

We enjoyed green lemonade with our first spooky snack...

Mummies in a blanket!

Yum!

We learned about our second secondary color, orange, by mixing yellow and red paint.  We used our orange paint to create big pumpkins for our PreK Pumpkin Patch.

Meet Tinkio, Rainbow Dash, Character, and Camilla...

Rainbow, Sarah, and Allie....

Thomas, Flower, Baby, Stewart, and Bib Baby....

Max, Alex, and Elisa.

We learned from Mrs. Milton that we can show God's love to others by shining our light like a jack-o-lantern.

Our friend Mrs. Susan from the Museum of Discovery came for a visit and brought a creepy crawly Madagascar Hissing Cockroach.  Yuck!

We had quite a few friends who were brave enough to touch it!

We enjoyed our second spooky snack, spiders.  But these were cute and yummy, not creepy and crawly!

We ended our week of fundraising with the LLS assembly where the Jr.High student who raised the most money (over $500!) got to shave Mr. Thursby's head!

And Mr. Thursby and Mrs. Files took pies to the face to help "whip out cancer"!

We can't forget our afternoon as TV stars!  We loved our "pretend" bulletin board the crew put up.

We also had so much fun with the film crew playing with the parachute on the big kids' field.

We have had 2 awesome hoots so far this month, Annie and Lawson.  Lawson even matched the Hoot on our sign with his adorable glasses!  :)
