Wabbit Round Up!

We have been very busy baby Wabbits the last two weeks!
We celebrated the kick off of the HSS Football season with Red and White Day and cheering on our teams at the first Pep Rally of the year.  We loved seeing all of the big kids, especially the cheerleaders' stunt and tumble routine!
Charlotte's mom got to enjoy the pep rally with us!

We learned about a new shape, the square!  We practiced identifying and drawing squares on the smart board.

We learned all about the 5 Senses.  First we talked about our sight and read one of my favorite books, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Eric Carle.

Next, we talked about our hearing.  We identified different animals, vehicles, and instruments by their sounds then we each made a sound pattern of clapping, patting our legs, and snapping our fingers for our classmates to follow along with.

We put our sense of touch to the test to identify different objects inside of a secret bag.  We had to think really hard but we did a great job using our descriptive words and identifying the objects!

One afternoon we had a taste test!  We tried sour gummies, bitter dark chocolate, salty crackers, and sweet milk chocolate.  We kept track of our own likes and dislikes on our paper then we voted for our favorite taste as a class.

Cade and Charlotte did not like the sour gummies, look at these poor faces!

PreK B liked both Sour and Sweet with 6 votes each!

The last sense we put to the test was smell.  As we made our applesauce treat we tried to identify the ingredients by their smell alone.  It's a lot harder than we thought it would be!

We ended the week with our last apple decoration for the month, beautiful apple tears to hang from the ceiling!

We began our Alphabet Study last week with the letter A!  After learning about different things that start with the letter A we practiced tracing and writing the letter.

Next, we spelled each of our names to see who has the letter A.  We learned that A is a vowel and that lots of names have As in them.

This week we also talked about patterning.  We learned how to make AB patterns and practiced by making apple bracelets that we got to wear home on Friday.  Look at all of these beautiful bracelets!

We also worked with a partner to pattern with shapes of things that start with A.
Apples, Arkansas, Angels, and Awards.

We all did Awesome!

This week we met our 4A reading buddies.  We loved meeting our new friends!

On Friday we made Apple Krispies, rice krispies cereal in the shape of apples with Tootsie Roll stems and Jelly Bean leaves.  They were so yummy!

On Friday we participated in National Run At School Day sponsored locally by Go Running!  We got to run with our 4th grade buddies and we had a blast!

Thank you to Mrs. Erin from Go Running and Mrs. Miller our PE teacher for a great event!

Our Hoot of the week was Josie!  We loved learning more about all of your swimming competitions and awards, thank you for sharing all of your sweet pictures and items with us!

Lastly, thank you so much for sending your change and dollar bills all week long.  We helped contribute to the schools total of over $5,000 dollars!  All of the money raised is going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help find a cure for childhood cancer.
