Happy Fall-idays!

Happy Fall-idays from the Hoots of PreK-B!
We were super busy this month getting ready for Thanksgiving, come and look at what all we've done!

We began the month by attending All Saints Mass and got to see the 3rd graders dressed as Saints that they had been studying.

The 8th graders came and taught us all about the election process and on election day we took to the polls and cast our votes in the HSS election.  Our favorite part was the fun "sticker" at the end!

This month we learned all about the weather.  We even had local weatherman Todd Yakoubian come and teach us about different kinds of clouds!

My favorite journal of the month was our "Cloudy with a chance of ____" entry.  Hoots have big imaginations and drew hamburgers, pizza, mac & cheese, jelly beans, donuts, and many other yummy foods falling from the sky!

For our window this month we made beautiful "stained glass" acorns.  The sign that accompanies the acorns reads "From tiny seeds grow might trees."  Very fitting for our little Hoots, who's futures are so full of amazing potential!

We made vibrantly colored leaves to decorate our walls,

and adorable scarecrows to decorate our cabinets.

It wouldn't be November without an appearance from Mr. Turkey!
We completed a guided drawing of a turkey and wrote our own suggestion to "Save a turkey, eat more____."  Many silly suggestions came in like spaghetti, chicken nuggets, popcorn, and hamburgers.

We reviewed our counting skills and practiced coloring in turkey feathers from 1-10.

We also used our detective skills and our knowledge of positional words to find 10 turkeys hidden around our classroom!

We made hand print turkey place mats that we hoped you enjoyed at Thanksgiving!

We filled out our PreK B turkey's feathers with things we are thankful for.

We turned ourselves into pilgrims and drew pictures of people and things we are thankful for in our lives.

We also took time to tell all of the staff around the school just how thankful we are for them and all that they do for us!  (We had a few staff members out last week so we will have to deliver their cards after the break!)

We ended our month long thankful celebration with our Thanksgiving Feast!
PreK B had the cutest Indian Boys and Pilgrim Girls this year.
We sang a sweet Thanksgiving song with PreK A, prayed together, and enjoyed a kid friendly feast in the company of our friends and family.  It was such a special time together!

Mrs. Milton and I are thankful for each and every one of the boys and girls in our room and you, their wonderful families!  We hope you all had a wonderful break and a Happy Thanksgiving!
